We grew up with blueprints (they actually were blue back then!) and material samples strewn on the living room floor, laid out on the dining room table, boat bags filled with project files. It wasn’t that Mom didn’t have an actual office outside of the house. She certainly did - and when we visited we would explore the showroom, hide in the rows of hanging rugs, play with her tape measure and design tools. She has been designing full time since before we were born and somehow managed to be an ever present parent and award winning professional the entire time. We love to brag about her which is why we are writing this! She taught us to work hard and play hard - although even when she is playing, that boat bag (and now MacBook, iPad and iPhone) are all nearby. Her love of travel suits her profession well - we have been with her in other countries while she video calls clients to show them a rug or light fixture she found in a boutique that would be perfect for their great room. She absolutely delights in what she does - her dedication and joy have inspired each of us. Stylistically speaking, she has done it all - classic, contemporary, modern, eclectic - she designs to suit her clients and compliment the environment. Her time in the industry has provided her with access to an infinite amount of products, trusted relationships with vendors, architects, contractors and trade specialists. While she lives on Hilton Head she travels to projects in other parts of the country and abroad as well.
